 Objective The objective of the PROBA Test Bed (PTB) was to demonstrate the application of simulation applied to the early phases of a project. to allow quick prototyping of new missions and to reduce costs and increase efficiency in space projects by maximising reuse of common components across different phases of a project and across different projects.Context The prototype has been developed by ESA/ESTEC´s Modelling & Simulation section to support the PROBA (PRoject for On Board Autonomy) mission during the initial phases of the project. The PROBA mission is designed to evaluate the advantages of autonomous spacecraft operations The baseline for the simulation is an earth observation mission based on a multi-spectral imager as a payload. The spacecraft can take and transmit images autonomously according to user requests.
