Objective The overall goal is to demonstrate the possibilities for a seamless transition from non-real-time analysis to real-time system simulation in the area of dynamics and AOCS. Under this contract to ESA, Alenia is implementing a simulation capability of the dynamic behaviour of space multibody systems, as part of a real-time system simulation environment based on EuroSim, relying on the modelling capabilities of the DCAP tool. To this effect the activity includes the adaptation of the existing dynamics tool (DCAP) to automatically generate real-time dynamics simulation code that can be easily configured and interfaced with flight hardware and software. Context Real-time models of the dynamic behaviour of space systems are needed for various simulation objectives, ranging from controller validation. Real-time simulation is essential for training systems and also for simulation involving the real onboard software and hardware and man-in-the-loop.
